Nonstop Barking, Barking, Barking...
How Can You Stop The Noise?
Heredity gave dogs voices but there are ways to control most of the sounds that come from canine pets. Dogs in Bergen that bark at the noise of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught your preferred doggy behavior. It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Bergen door but you should teach them that an OK command from you means everything is fine and your dog guardian can stop making noise.
Another complaint we hear from pet owners is the whining at objects such as a shovel or rakes. These are all items a pet can learn to live with quietly. Watching out the window and barking at your Bergen neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable bad dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your canine from inside the home. This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.
Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over 200 times better than your hearing. He can hear your car coming from over a block away. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your dog when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
If your dog's relentless barking is an issue you would like to correct, please give Frank Allison, dog obedience trainer a call or click to set up an appointment. Frank would be happy to schedule a private session in your Bergen house.
