How Can You Stop The Noise?

Heredity gave dogs voices but there are ways to control most of the sounds that come from canine pets.  Dogs in Oak Park that bark at the sound of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual.  It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Oak Park house but you should train them that an OK command from you means everything is fine and your protector can stop growling.

Another complaint we hear from dog owners is the barking at objects such as a broom or rakes. These are all things a canine can learn to live with quietly. Watching out the window and barking at your Oak Park neighbors and their dogs should not be tolerated inappropriate dog behavior either.  This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your dog from inside the house.  This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.

Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over 200x better than your hearing.  He can hear the sound of a child riding a tricycle several houses away.  He will respond with his voice.  You just need to learn how to teach your canine when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
