Heredity gave dogs voices but there are steps to control most of the sounds that come from man's best friend. Dogs in Northlake that bark at the sound of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught your preferred doggy behavior. It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Northlake door but you should teach them that an "okay" from you means you have the situation under control and your protector can stop growling.
Another concern we hear from pet owners is the barking at objects such as a broom or wheelchairs. These are all items a canine can learn to live with quietly. Watching out the window and barking at your Northlake neighbors and their dogs should not be tolerated bad dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your dog from inside the home. It really doesn't take long for them to learn.
Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing. He can hear your car coming from over a block away. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your pet when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
