How Can You Stop The Noise?

Heredity gave dogs voices but there are procedures to correct most of the sounds that come from canine pets.  Dogs in Kensington that bark at the sound of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual.  It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Kensington door but you should train them that an "okay" from you means you have the situation under control and your dog guardian can stop making noise.

Another complaint we hear from dog owners is the whining at objects such as vacuum cleaners or tractors. These are all items a dog can learn to live with quietly. Watching out the window and barking at your Kensington neighbors and their dogs should not be tolerated inappropriate dog behavior either.  This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your dog from inside the from a distance.  This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.

It's important for you to remember that a dog's hearing is over 200 times better than your hearing.  He can hear the sound of a child riding a tricycle several houses away.  He will respond with his voice.  You just need to learn how to teach your dog when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
