Heredity gave dogs voices but there are steps to correct most of the sounds that come from dogs. Dogs in Kensington that bark at the noise of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual. It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Kensington door but you should train them that an OK command from you means you have the situation under control and your dog guardian can stop making noise.
Another complaint we hear from dog owners is the whining at objects such as a shovel or walkers. These are all items a canine can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Kensington neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable bad dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your dog from inside the house. It really doesn't take long for them to learn.
Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing. He can hear his dog food being taken out of the car truck in the garage. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your dog when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
