Heredity gave dogs voices but there are procedures to control most of the sounds that come from your pet. Dogs in Hickory Hills that bark at the sound of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual. It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Hickory Hills door but you should teach them that an "okay" from you means you have the situation under control and your dog guardian can stop barking.
Another complaint we hear from pet owners is the barking at objects such as a shovel or wheelchairs. These are all things a dog can learn to live with quietly. Running fence lines and barking at your Hickory Hills neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable inappropriate dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your canine from inside the home. It really doesn't take long for them to learn.
Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over 200 times better than your hearing. He can hear your car coming from over a block away. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your canine when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
