Heredity gave dogs voices but there are steps to control most of the sounds that come from dogs. Dogs in Harvey that bark at the noise of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught your preferred doggy behavior. It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Harvey house but you should train them that an "okay" from you means you have the situation under control and your dog guardian can stop barking.
Another concern we hear from dog owners is the barking at objects such as a broom or tractors. These are all items a dog can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Harvey neighbors and their dogs should not be tolerated inappropriate dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your canine from inside the from a distance. It really doesn't take long for them to learn.
It's important for you to remember that a dog's hearing is over 200 times better than your hearing. He can hear the sound of a child riding a tricycle several houses away. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your pet when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
