Heredity gave dogs voices but there are ways to control most of the sounds that come from man's best friend. Dogs in East Hazel Crest that bark at the sound of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught your preferred doggy behavior. It is their job to bark when an unknown person comes to your East Hazel Crest house but you should teach them that an OK command from you means you have the situation under control and your protector can stop barking.
Another concern we hear from pet owners is the barking at objects such as a broom or tractors. These are all things a dog can learn to live with quietly. Running fence lines and barking at your East Hazel Crest neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable inappropriate dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your pet from inside the from a distance. This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.
Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing. He can hear your car coming from over a block away. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your canine when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
If your dog barks too much and this is an issue you would like to correct, please give Frank Allison, dog obedience trainer a call or click to set up an appointment. Frank would be happy to schedule a private session in your East Hazel Crest home.
