How Can You Stop The Noise?

Heredity gave dogs voices but there are ways to control most of the sounds that come from dogs.  Dogs in Dunning that bark at the sound of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual.  It is their job to bark when an unknown person comes to your Dunning house but you should train them that an OK command from you means you have the situation under control and your protector can stop barking.

Another complaint we hear from dog owners is the whining at objects such as a broom or rakes. These are all items a pet can learn to live with quietly. Running fence lines and barking at your Dunning neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable bad dog behavior either.  This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your dog from inside the home.  This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.

Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing.  He can hear your car coming from over a block away.  He will respond with his voice.  You just need to learn how to teach your dog when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
