Heredity gave dogs voices but there are procedures to control most of the sounds that come from man's best friend. Dogs in Genesee that bark at the sound of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual. It is their job to bark when an unknown person comes to your Genesee door but you should train them that an OK command from you means you have the situation under control and your dog guardian can stop barking.
Another concern we hear from pet owners is the whining at objects such as a broom or rakes. These are all items a dog can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Genesee neighbors and their dogs should not be tolerated inappropriate dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your dog from inside the house. This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.
It's important for you to remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing. He can hear a squirrel running up a tree. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your dog when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
