Heredity gave dogs voices but there are procedures to control most of the sounds that come from man's best friend. Dogs in Eagleville that bark at the sound of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual. It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Eagleville door but you should train them that an OK command from you means everything is fine and your protector can stop barking.
Another complaint we hear from pet owners is the whining at objects such as vacuum cleaners or tractors. These are all items a dog can learn to live with quietly. Running fence lines and barking at your Eagleville neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable bad dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your canine from inside the house. It really doesn't take long for them to learn.
It's important for you to remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing. He can hear a squirrel running up a tree. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your dog when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
