Heredity gave dogs voices but there are ways to control most of the sounds that come from canine pets. Dogs in Calhoun that bark at the noise of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual. It is their job to bark when an unknown person comes to your Calhoun door but you should teach them that an "okay" from you means everything is fine and your protector can stop making noise.
Another concern we hear from dog owners is the whining at objects such as a broom or wheelchairs. These are all things a dog can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Calhoun neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable inappropriate dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your canine from inside the from a distance. This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.
Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing. He can hear the sound of a child riding a tricycle several houses away. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your canine when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
