How Can You Stop The Noise?

Heredity gave dogs voices but there are procedures to correct most of the sounds that come from man's best friend.  Dogs in Pell Lake that bark at the sound of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught your preferred doggy behavior.  It is their job to bark when an unknown person comes to your Pell Lake door but you should train them that an OK command from you means you have the situation under control and your protector can stop making noise.

Another concern we hear from pet owners is the whining at objects such as vacuum cleaners or tractors. These are all items a dog can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Pell Lake neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable inappropriate dog behavior either.  This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your pet from inside the home.  This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.

Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over 200 times better than your hearing.  He can hear your car coming from over a block away.  He will respond with his voice.  You just need to learn how to teach your pet when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
