Heredity gave dogs voices but there are ways to correct most of the sounds that come from canine pets. Dogs in Little Prairie that bark at the noise of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught your preferred doggy behavior. It is their job to bark when an unknown person comes to your Little Prairie house but you should teach them that an "okay" from you means you have the situation under control and your dog guardian can stop making noise.
Another concern we hear from pet owners is the whining at objects such as a broom or rakes. These are all items a pet can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Little Prairie neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable bad dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your dog from inside the home. This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.
Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over 200x better than your hearing. He can hear the sound of a child riding a tricycle several houses away. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your pet when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
