Heredity gave dogs voices but there are ways to control most of the sounds that come from your pet. Dogs in Inlet that bark at the noise of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual. It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Inlet house but you should teach them that an OK command from you means you have the situation under control and your dog guardian can stop making noise.
Another concern we hear from dog owners is the barking at objects such as vacuum cleaners or walkers. These are all items a pet can learn to live with quietly. Watching out the window and barking at your Inlet neighbors and their dogs should not be tolerated inappropriate dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your canine from inside the house. This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.
It's important for you to remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing. He can hear a squirrel running up a tree. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your canine when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
