How Can You Stop The Noise?

Heredity gave dogs voices but there are steps to control most of the sounds that come from your pet.  Dogs in Hickory Haven that bark at the noise of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual.  It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Hickory Haven door but you should teach them that an "okay" from you means everything is fine and your dog guardian can stop making noise.

Another complaint we hear from dog owners is the barking at objects such as vacuum cleaners or wheelchairs. These are all items a pet can learn to live with quietly. Running fence lines and barking at your Hickory Haven neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable inappropriate dog behavior either.  This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your dog from inside the house.  This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.
