Heredity gave dogs voices but there are steps to control most of the sounds that come from your pet. Dogs in Burlington that bark at the sound of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual. It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Burlington door but you should train them that an OK command from you means everything is fine and your dog guardian can stop growling.
Another concern we hear from pet owners is the barking at objects such as a shovel or wheelchairs. These are all things a dog can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Burlington neighbors and their dogs should not be tolerated inappropriate dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your canine from inside the home. This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.
Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing. He can hear the sound of a child riding a tricycle several houses away. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your pet when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
