Heredity gave dogs voices but there are steps to correct most of the sounds that come from your pet. Dogs in Bowers that bark at the sound of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual. It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Bowers door but you should train them that an OK command from you means everything is fine and your protector can stop making noise.
Another concern we hear from pet owners is the barking at objects such as a shovel or tractors. These are all things a pet can learn to live with quietly. Running fence lines and barking at your Bowers neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable inappropriate dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your pet from inside the home. This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.
It's important for you to remember that a dog's hearing is over 200 times better than your hearing. He can hear the sound of a child riding a tricycle several houses away. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your canine when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
